Classroom Rules Poster Template

Set expectations on day one with this free classroom rules poster template. It lists four starter rules, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Kind and Do Your Best, each with a short reminder line, plus a fifth slot for a rule your class writes together. The header has room for your name and room number, and the footer carries your school name.

How teachers use it

• The front wall where students see it during every lesson
• A first-week lesson where the class votes on rule five
• Shared rooms like art, music, the library and the gym
• Substitute folders and hallway displays outside the room

Each rule and reminder is its own Word text box, so you can reword "Come ready to learn" to fit your grade, or swap the starter rules for your school-wide expectations. The numbered colored circles make the list easy to point to and easy for early readers to follow. This is a finished, printable rules poster. If you want to build interactive charts with your students, our guide to anchor charts covers ideas and examples for every subject.

For the sharpest result, print it on a school poster printer at 300 DPI. Our printers are Canva-ready, so you can rebuild the design in Canva if you prefer. Need the printer, ink and paper together? See our poster maker packages.
